Dory Kahalé - I’ve been a techno music making machine since 1991. My first appearance on an official music recording came in 1992 on a Minneapolis techno compilation called Cabin Rave – 10000 Homo Fishermen. This compilation included other Minneapolis artists which also soon became known players in global electronic music such as Woody McBride, Chris Sattinger, and Freddy Fresh. My alias was Local 120 and I did not know that it would be the first of many aliases to come.
Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) Dirty McKenzie Remix
Dirty McKenzie - Turn It On (Dirty McKenzie Mix)
Dirty McKenzie - Amazon (Dirty McKenzie Mix)
DJ Apollo - Telstar (Dirty McKenzie Mix)
DJ Apollo - Old School Succession (1996)
DJ Apollo - B True 2 Your Skool (1996)
DJ Apollo - Trainwrecker (1996)
The most successful of my aliases was DJ Apollo which I used from 1993 to 1998. There was (and still is) another popular DJ Apollo from the west coast who used to DJ hip hop with the Invisbl Skratch Piklz and now with Triple Threat. He’s an incredibly talented DJ and as far as I can tell, both of us started releasing music under that alias around the same time. I don’t have a problem with it because of the different genres of music. But after hearing about him and seeing the amount of talent the man had on turntables, I decided to drop the name. Some labels I have worked with, however, have re-released some of my older music I made under that alias, which I have no control over because they own the rights to those titles.
My alias list for music published via Vinyl, CD or Online Distribution:
Local 120 (1992-1993)
DJ Apollo (1993-1998)
Ralph Laurenn (1994-1995)
Terrence Hawke (1995)
The Bureau (1997)
Statik (1997)
Dory (2004)
1DJ (2004-2007)
Cocaine On Her Dress (2004-2008)
Dirty McKenzie (2008-Current)

Apollo – How or Where do I get a copy of ‘Telstar’? I think I heard it over a decade ago in Statesboro, GA and have looked for it ever since. I really need a copy to help complete my collection of beats.
